www.Recovery.org is part of the American Addiction Centers (AAC) – the largest collection of online resource for those suffering with substance use and mental health disorders. We take pride in the quality of information that we provide: our articles are all well researched and thoroughly reviewed by a medical team. Our goal is to guide as many people to help as soon as possible before more lives are lost to drug overdoses. To do this, we offer a wide range of information on our sites – from facility reviews to forums – to help millions of families make more informed decisions about treatment.

Human Trafficking Information

The “SEE SOMETHING, SEND SOMETHING” mobile application or just “See Send”
The app is a nationwide suspicious activity reporting (SAR) tool for citizens to help in the fight against terrorism and criminal activity, but not to replace 911 for emergency situations. The smartphone application allows you to send suspicious activity as a photo or as written text directly to the Virginia State Police. The information is then automatically deleted from your phone so your anonymity is protected.
The application can be downloaded at no cost for iPhone and Android phone users, as well as iPad users.

National Human Trafficking Hotline Cases Jump by 13% in 2017
Cases of human trafficking reported to the:
National Human Trafficking Hotline (1-888-373-7888)
BeFree Textline (233733)

The Polaris Project

Polaris is a leader in the global fight to eradicate modern slavery. Named after the North Star that guided slaves to freedom in the U.S., Polaris systemically disrupts the human trafficking networks that rob human beings of their lives and their freedom. Our comprehensive model puts victims at the center of what we do – helping survivors restore their freedom, preventing more victims, and leveraging data and technology to pursue traffickers wherever they operate.

www.nvhttf.com
Northern Virginia Human Trafficking Task Force
